Sturtevant (B.F.) Company factory (second) is built.

1878

It is located at 555 Amory Street. The largest exhaust fan manufacturing plant in the world at the time, it moves to Hyde Park in 1901.* The Jamaica Plain building manufactures American Napier automobiles from 1904 to 1909, then military aircraft as the Sturtevant Aeroplane Company from 1915 to 1918. Part of the factory is destroyed by a fire in 1981.
